The Courses are aimed at mature students who are prepared to work hard over a period of one year in order to complete the required hours. As an independent college, this format of working will appeal to those students who want to devote their study in an intensive manner, whilst still maintaining busy working/family lives. The study programmes have been designed to cover 40 weeks per annum in line with school terms/holidays .dotted line
Classes will be kept to a maximum of 10 students per tutor, thereby ensuring individual and personal tuition, and will be conducted in such a manner that both the practical and theoretical elements are taught concurrently with as much emphasis as possible on student participation.dotted line
The college has an attached clinic where the students can see patients in a "student clinic". This will give the patients who cannot afford to visit a practitioner the chance to receive treatments at greatly reduced costs, whilst giving students the opportunity of observing qualified practitioners at work and gradually being introduced to patients themselves for practice purposes. dotted line
With regard to Aromatherapy, students will be encouraged to work through the entire spectrum of the plants - from planting the first seedlings to dispensing remedies. A vital part of the course is the emphasis on a holistic and traditional approach to aromatherapy whilst keeping up-to-date with scientific data, and the need to realise the role of aromatherapy within both the orthodox and complementary medical spectrum.dotted line
The role of the modern aromatherapist is seen as a "hands-on" healing art, therefore students are also taught many other
therapeutic treatments such as advanced massage techniques and reflexology, in order to become fully rounded practitioners
able to help their patients in a truly "holistic" way.

Entrance Requirements

The most important requirement from a prospective student is a desire to care for and help others. It is helpful if students have
5 or more O'Levels/GCSE's (or equivalent) but for mature students and those without formal qualifications, an entrance examination and thesis/project submission can be arranged with the college. This helps both students and tutors, since the theoretical elements of this course are very comprehensive and demanding.

Open Days and Interviews

The college holds several Open Days each year where prospective students, parents and interested parties can come for an informal visit to meet other college students, to discuss the courses offered and to meet the Principal and Tutors. An extensive interview with the Principal will follow before any course can be booked. This helps both parties to be sure that the student has chosen the right career.
